How it works

Closed beta – looking for testers An application, not instant access.

BuyProof answers three questions

Is it really the same product?

BuyProof reads brand, model, manufacturer details and technical features – and only compares once they line up.

Is it cheaper elsewhere?

We only compare offers that are evidenced to be the same product. Everything else is listed separately below.

Is this price actually good?

End prices including shipping, separated by condition – and BuyProof can keep watching the price for you.

In three steps

  1. Paste a product

Copy the link to a product – from almost any shop.

  2. BuyProof identifies and compares

We read the product page, work out which product it is, and look for comparable offers.

  3. Buy better informed

You see the end price, the difference and what the match rests on – and decide for yourself.

Why BuyProof is different

Most price comparisons search for a product name. But names are arbitrary: the same article is called three different things in three shops, and three different articles sound almost alike.

BuyProof answers the question that comes first: is this even the same product?

To do that, BuyProof reads what an offer says about itself – brand, model, manufacturer details and technical features. If that is not enough, we say so instead of guessing.

New, refurbished and used are three prices

A refurbished device is cheaper than a new one – that is not a saving, it is a different article. BuyProof keeps the conditions apart and does not mix their prices.

New

Unopened, from the retailer.

Refurbished

Professionally restored, often with a warranty.

Used

Second hand, condition depends on the offer.

Where an offer does not state its condition, we say so – we do not guess.

This is what a result looks like

Your offer at the top, the price comparison in the middle, the comparable offers below.

Not just once

Some products you do not buy right away. BuyProof can keep an eye on them for you.

Watchlist

Save products you are interested in – with the price you saw.

Price alert

Tell us a limit, and we will email you when it is undercut.

One click in the mail stops an alert again.

Price history

Where a source is connected, BuyProof records the history. For pages checked one by one it does not arise.

Data sources and partners

Where the data comes from is part of the statement. Only real integrations are listed here.

Connected as a data source

Structured data through an official interface: a fuller catalogue, continuous price tracking, price history.

Checkable live

BuyProof can analyse many public product pages directly. Whether a page can be read depends on the shop. This does not produce a continuous price history.

What you can hold us to

We do not sell placements

The order comes from product sameness, end price and data freshness. Partner programmes play no part.

No comparison beats a wrong one

Without evidence that it is the same product, we show no price comparison. Not even when it would look good.

End prices, not teaser prices

We calculate with shipping where it is stated. Where it is missing, we say so – instead of treating it as zero.

Condition counts

New, refurbished and used stay apart. A condition an offer does not state is not assumed.

Browser extension

Later, even more convenient - right on the product page.

A product link can already be pasted directly today; the extension later saves that step and reads the open page. It decides nothing itself – search planning, matching, assessment and price history run on the server. Available for Chrome, Edge and Firefox.

The extension only reads the page you click it on. No background history, no sharing of your address with third parties.

Frequently asked

Is BuyProof free?

Comparison, price history for connected sources and a watchlist with alerts are free to use. A later premium plan only raises limits – more saved products, more alerts, longer history. It never delivers better matches or cheaper offers than a free account.

Where do the prices come from?

From the product page you opened, from official marketplace APIs, and from feeds merchants hand us themselves. Every measurement carries a timestamp; prices may have changed since.

Why is an offer sometimes excluded?

Because it is not the same product: an accessory instead of the main item, a different pack size, a different variant, a different product type. BuyProof states the reason for every exclusion.

How does BuyProof make money?

Later through partner programmes and a premium plan. Neither changes the order of offers. A shop cannot buy a position with us – that is technically excluded and tested.

Does BuyProof say a merchant is cheating?

No. We describe where the current price sits among the prices we measured ourselves, and on how many measurements that rests. We have not seen a merchant's price history, so we say nothing about it.

What data does BuyProof store about me?

For an account: an e-mail address and a password hash. Per device the device type, so you can recognise your sessions – no IP address, no full browser fingerprint. Plus whatever you saved and the alerts you created.
